Football would be boring if everyone had the same opinions, and Liverpool fans might question the prospect of spending over £30 million on a player whose team finished 17th last season. Villa fans, however, know just how good Benteke is and there's certainly a chance he could excel at a higher level. Liverpool fans should take a look at how the Belgian striker has done against them in the past. In his first game against Liverpool, a game which Villa won 3-1, Benteke put on a masterful display. He scored from outside of the box for the first goal, set up a goal for Weimann with an back-heel and capped it all off by waltzing through the Liverpool defence to score his second. Anfield was stunned - a performance to remember. It would be unwise to base an opinion on one game, but he scored another that season against Liverpool at Villa Park, twice against them the following season, and then (more recently) in the FA Cup semi-final against Rodgers' side.
