Liverpool Transfers: 10 Dream Alternatives To Loic Remy
9. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Schalke)
The Reds were strongly linked with a swoop for Klaas Jan Huntelaar following the conclusion of Holland's World Cup campaign, and following the collapse of Remy's switch to Anfield Brendan Rodgers may end up swooping for the Schalke forward once more. Liverpool are likely to favour Daniel Sturridge as their top striker for the coming campaign and with the likes of Huntelaar and Rickie Lambert as potential back up for the England striker, they should be well equipped to deal with the rigours of four competitions. Huntelaar is an experienced head who is capable of finding the net, with the Dutchman scoring 14 goals in 21 games last season for the Bundesliga club. He has a proven record of scoring goals wherever he has played, boasting impressive records in Belgium's Jupiler League, the Dutch Eredivisie and of course in Germany, where he currently plies his trade. The soon to be 31-year-old striker has one year left on his current deal with Schalke and is set to discuss his future with the club this summer. Huntelaar has yet to rule out a move away from his current club having heard about Liverpool's interest, though the Dutchman has failed to confirm any talks have yet taken place.
