Liverpool could pick up a real bargain if they are brave enough to make a bid for 28-year-old French winger Roy Contout. Contout is another versatile player with the ability to play in a number of different attacking roles including wide on either flank or as a central attacking midfielder. His current club Sochaux are really struggling in Ligue 1 with only two wins all season, and they have lost four of their last five games. Realistically, they look like certainties for relegation which may encourage Contout to make a January move for bigger and better things; he is very much a good player in a very poor side. Its probably fair to say that his talent hasnt always being represented in terms of goals of assists this season, but that has to be partly due to the club that he is currently playing for. Its startling that he currently leads the French league for dribbles with 2.3 completed is every match. Critics will point to the fact that he has only provided one assist this season, but the three goals he has scored and general performance level means he is well worth a look.
