Liverpool Transfers: 5 Left-Backs Brendan Rodgers Must Sign

5. Aly Cissokho

Aly Cissokho According to the Express, Liverpool are closing in on a loan move for Valencia's unwanted left-back Aly Cissokho. Further reports in Spain claim the France international is on the verge of a move to Merseyside for a fee of around £900,000, with the deal including the option for Rodgers to buy the player outright for £3.5 million. Having already signed Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas, Cissokho would become just the latest player to join the Anfield outfit from Spain, despite having only signed from Valencia last season. Yet he has failed to live up to his potential at the Mestalla, having only featured 11 times in La Liga last season, and looks set for a move to England in an effort to revive his flagging career. The 25-year-old is a former Arsenal target while he was also wanted by Sunderland.
