Liverpool Transfers: 5 Left-Backs Brendan Rodgers Must Sign

4. Ryan Bertrand

Liverpool have had an inquiry for the 23-year-old knocked back by Chelsea and Brendan Rodgers is certainly interested. The youngster is currently playing second fiddle at Stamford Bridge with Ashley Cole reserving his place as first-choice left-back and with the England veteran penning a new, one year deal at the club, Bertrand looks set to be second choice yet again next season. The fullback is a product of Chelsea's youth academy and has stated his intentions to one day become first-choice in West London but, with a World Cup year fast approaching, making appearances from the bench isn't likely to do him any favours when it comes to factoring into Roy Hodgson's plans. Perhaps a loan move would suit - it would appear to please both parties. Bertrand in the past has spent time on loan at Bournemouth, Oldham, Norwich, Reading and Nottingham Forest and could be set for a second temporary move.
