1. Lisandro Lopez
With Tottenham now seemingly on the verge of signing Roberto Soldado, their other substantial target Lisandro Lopez may become of interest to Liverpool.
During an interview with The Metro in April, Lopez revealed he was likely to leave his club Lyon in the summer. He said:
I dont think it is possible for me to continue here. Before the end of the season Im going to meet with the president and the coach and well see.
He made these comments after a number of rows with Lyon manager Remi Garde. With only a year left on his contract, Lopez would be a cheap, experienced alternative. Despite turning 30, Lopez still has the movement and finishing prowess that has seen him score goals wherever he has been. In four seasons at Lyon he has scored 82 goals in 166 matches; just under a goal every other game. And in 380 club appearance overall, he has scored 171 goals. Last season Liverpool were in the top five teams in Europe for creating chances so having someone like Lopez up front to finish off those chances would obviously be beneficial. He would be a cheap option with a proven goal scoring record to help replace the goals of Luis Suarez.
