1. Christian Benteke
What better way to decrease your goals against tally than buying a player who put three past you in the previous season? Belgian international forward, Christian Benteke, announced himself as one of Europe's most sought-after young strikers after a breakout season for Aston Villa. The 22 year-old netted 19 goals in the League and was detrimental to the survival of the Midlands club. Some of his standout performances came against Liverpool after scoring a brace in a shock 3-1 victory to Villa at Anfield and another in the 2-1 defeat at home. His strength and power gave Skrtel, Agger and Carragher problems when Benteke lined up against them and all can lay claim to his ability. Villa will be doing all they can to secure him for next season but, according to the
Mail Online, Benteke will be assessing his future after he returns from international duty. The big Belgian has several possible suiters with Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund all said to be interested in his services. If Suarez was to leave Liverpool then Benteke would be a quality replacement. He is a similar player to Dzeko but, at five years his junior, there is more upside to Benteke. His first season in England after signing from Genk for
a reported £7 million was an undoubted success and Aston Villa may be tempted to cash in. Around
£20 million would be needed to secure his signature and I would love to see him in Liverpool red next season.
