Man City: 5 Reasons Roberto Mancini Is NOT The Best Manager In England

1. Other Managers

As mentioned earlier, the most decorated manager in English football is working in the same city as Mancini. Sir Alex Ferguson is on course to add considerably to trophy haul this season, perhaps even emulating his greatest achievement, the treble of 1999. His 27 major trophies towers over Mancini's 2, and if you're one of those people who considers the Community Shield to be a major trophy, it takes Ferguson to 37 and Mancini to 3. If greatness is measured on trophies, then Mancini has a very long way to go before he can consider himself number one.

If greatness is measured by longevity, even if you take Ferguson out of the equation, it would be hard to overlook someone like David Moyes at Everton, who has consistently improved Everton with next to nothing to spend. You wonder what kind of success someone with his transfer record could have with £284 million in his holster.

Of course Benitez and Wenger as well could make a strong argument to being better than Mancini. It also seems easy to forget that Swansea have Michael Laudrup in charge, an absolute legend of the game, while Harry Redknapp and Martin O'Neill, although having a tough time this season, have been grinding out stable sides for years.
