Man Utd: 10 Stats That Prove Moyes Is Getting It All Wrong

3. Inferiority To City In Every Way

Cross over to the other side of Manchester, and Manuel Pellegrini has finally achieved the perfect balance of brilliant attacking talents and solid defensive tactics. Free scoring Manchester City 'out-stat' their rivals in almost every way: the Citizens have had 278 shots on goal this season, resulting in 59 goals for their impressive crop of strikers (who are enough to keep Stevan Jovetic out of the team entirely.) At the other end of the pitch, City have conceded 23 goals - thus outscoring their cumulative opponents by 36 goals - and spectacularly so in some individual games - even if they made hard work of their last game at Newcastle. United on the other hand have had just 218 shots on goal this season, resulting in only 35 goals - having conceded 24. United are even eclipsed by their former selves, having had over 40 more shots and scoring 15 more goals last season. If United are to stand any chance of getting anywhere near the rivals, they'll need to stop getting out done by them against their opposition.
