Another of the key foundations to Fergie€™s reign has been his ability to be ruthless and very bold in his transfer decisions. If you crossed Fergie at all or if your face just didn€™t fit the plans ahead, he would have no compunction in showing the exit door to even the greatest of servants, as evidenced with Roy Keane and Jaap Stam. However, probably the most famous example of this was after losing the title in 1994-95, partly due to Cantona€™s kung-fu inspired exile. He made his boldest decision yet in the transfer market, he sold Paul €œcall me the guvnor, it€™s ok I will call you a big time Charlie€ Ince, Mark Hughes and Andrei Kanchelskis. These decisions would earn Fergie some heavy criticism but proved to be inspired as United would win the double in 1995-1996 thanks to the emergence of the younger players allied with the more senior players that remained.
