Man Utd: 5 Awesome Strikers And 5 That Sucked

1. Diego Forlán

Forlan Diego Forlán is perhaps the single most frustrating player to have ever put on a United shirt. Unlike the other four strikers who have made our list of "5 worst", there is no doubting his class. The Uruguayan, is, lest we forget, a former 'Golden Ball' winner for his performances in the 2010 World Cup, so he must have been doing something right. Yet when he moved to United from Independiente in 2001, he must have left his shooting boots in Argentina because his tally for the Reds was utterly inadequate. He only managed 17 in 98 appearances and though, happily, many of those did come against Liverpool, he did very little against all other opposition. He was sold to Villarreal in 2004 and has since played for Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Internacional and guess what? Since leaving Old Trafford he has scored a tremendous amount of goals. 59 for Villarreal, 96 for Atletico and 12 for Internacional. It remains a mystery that he failed to replicate such goal-laden feats at Old Trafford, but despite his heroics elsewhere, he has to go down as United's worst ever striker. What do you think of our list? Did we miss anyone out? Let us know in the comment section, below.
