Another big goal against Chelsea for the big game player came in 2011 in the Champions League quarter-finals. Didier Drogba had just pulled back an equaliser at Old Trafford as we battled the Blues in the latter stages of the competition, and fingernails were beginning to run a little low, as they have done on so many Champions League nights down the years. But there was no reason to have feared, because after being laid on by Ryan Giggs, Park stepped up to slot into the far corner of Petr Cech's goal to help secure our place in the semi-finals 3-1 on aggregate, helping to write his name alongside so many other greats in our history books. Unfortunately, though we went on to reach the final of the Champions League once more in 2011, there would be heartbreak for both us and Park, as we went down 3-1 to Barcelona. Nevertheless, his contributions to the team are undiminished, and we should thank Park for the time he spent with us and wish him all the best for his retirement. What were your fondest memories of Park Ji-Sung as a Red Devil? Let us know in the comment section, below.
