Man Utd Transfers: 5 Big Names Moyes Is In Danger Of Losing In The Summer

1. Wayne Rooney

And finally, possibly the biggest talking point in terms of possible out-goings at Manchester United is Wayne Rooney. The previous summer saw Rooney heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, but this failed to materialise come the end of the window. And United fans will be hoping they can hold onto one of their most valuable assets after news that he is now happy to enter talks about extending his contract at Old Trafford. With United suffering this season, the possibility of a lack of Champions League football at United next season could become the main reason whether he stays or goes. And should contract talks fail to see a new deal made with Rooney and his representatives, United could be forced into selling him during the summer, or risk losing him for nothing the following year. Rooney and his future has been a talking point long before Moyes took the hot seat at Old Trafford, but it is now down to the new manager to ensure that he holds on to Rooney and tie the battling front man to a new deal. Should this fail to happen before the end of the current campaign, and United fail to qualify for the Champions League, then interest in Rooney will surely be sparked again come the summer. Reports suggest the Chelsea are ready to cool their interest in Rooney, but even if this is the case, there are other potential destinations for Rooney, such as Madrid.
