Man Utd Transfers: 5 Defenders Fergie Should Target

1. Domenico Criscito

Domenico Criscito

Domenico Criscito has completely fallen off the map since moving to Zenit St. Petersburg. Still, there's a reason he's consistently making the Italy squad under Cesare Prandelli and remains favoured by Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti€”he's one of the most dynamic left-backs around. Patrice Evra showed again how he's faltering by being lit up by Aaron Lennon at White Hart Lane and the Alexander Buttner transfer hasn't quite gone to plan. In fact, the Dutchman is more suited to left-wing, than left-back. Criscito will be costly, but he's in his prime and can fill in at centre-back too. Worth the outlay. Likelihood? The least likely of all five, but probably the most rewarding. Criscito is as versatile as they come and left-footers are rare, so it's surprising to see he's still playing in Russia at the prime age of 26. Spalletti will have been relieved his star defender withdrew from Italy's Euro 2012 squad€”a move that keeps him in the shadows just a little while longer. 3/10Follow @stighefootball
