With Wayne Rooney's future still far from certain, Manchester United could soon find themselves in the market for a new striker. Rooney continues to be linked with a move to Chelsea and with just 18 months left on his contract at Old Trafford, a new deal has yet to be agreed. Losing Rooney would obviously be a catastrophic blow to United, considering the England international is their talisman at present and has been one of the side's few shining lights. And should he join Chelsea, or move elsewhere, the Red Devils would need to spend big on a replacement and make a statement of intent that they are not the spent force many perceive them to be. Monaco's Radamel Falcao has been tipped with a move to United recently, with Chelsea also keen on the goal machine, who has struck nine times in 13 Ligue 1 appearances this season. Falcao is considered one of Europe's most fearsome forwards with 70 goals in 91 appearances for former club Atletico Madrid earning him a reputation as one of the world's best. And though he has only been at Monaco for less than a season, the Colombian is thought to be unhappy at the French club. Any move would likely cost a whopping £60 million. Though the stated value for each of these five players comes to £155 million, the January transfer window is not always the best for value for money, and the total fee for these stars could easily rise above £200 million.
