1. Too Much Reliance On Robin van Persie?
Of Manchester United's 54 goals this season, former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has scored 20 of them. That's all well and good, but what if something happened to the Dutchman? When you take his goals out of the equation, you have Javier Hernandez' 12 strikes and Wayne Rooney's 8. It is difficult to imagine United being top of the table right now without the current form of van Persie. In the 2009/10 season he was restricted to just 19 appearances all season due to an ankle injury he sustained on international duty with Holland.* He was only expected to be out for six weeks, until that is further tests showed he would end up missing five months. If van Persie ends up injuring himself again and finds himself on the sidelines for an undetermined period of time, United are going to be in trouble. United have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski recently.** Since United already have four strikers in RVP, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck, it appeared as though his signing might be an unnecessary one.
