Following last summer's disasters in the transfer window, which saw the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Ander Herrera linked with a move to United, David Moyes has finally landed a big name. United received blow after blow after blow in the market last year with a series of top stars snubbing a move to Old Trafford but the Red Devils have proven this month they can still attract big players, in spite of their recent and well-documented failings on the pitch. Mata is very much the 'marquee signing' and in landing him, the Red Devils are sending out a message to their competitors that they're not the spent force many perceive them to be. The acquisition of the Spaniard could provide other high-profile players to join while United will certainly have a swagger about them out on the pitch given Mata's aforementioned abilities. Overall, Juan Mata will give United a creative spark, a constant goal-threat, match-winning experience and the confidence that things can be turned around - on and off the pitch.
