1. Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move back to the club where he spent six seasons and won the Champions League ever since news broke that he was
"sad" at Real Madrid, triggering speculation he could be set for a sensational return. His goal in the first leg of United's Champions League encounter with Real along with his winner at Old Trafford in the return helped to knock his old side out of the competition, something of which
upset the star, illustrating his fondness for his former side. Ronaldo has always identified Ferguson as a "father figure" in the world of sport and asked after the game following his emotional return to Old Trafford if he would one day return, he commented: "The future I do not know". Though admittedly it was a somewhat ambiguous answer, Man United fans could perhaps take some crumb of comfort from the fact that he didn't say "no".
