Man Utd vs Real Sociedad: 5 Big Decisions Moyes Must Get Right

3. Whether To Stick With Marouane Fellaini

Marouane Fellaini Since Marouane Fellaini arrived from Everton on transfer deadline day, eyebrows have been raised quizzically, particularly over the perceived inflated price tag the champions splashed out on the midfielder. Further suspicions have come to the surface about his performances. Recently, club legend Gary Neville observed that United are too slow under David Moyes, and he has a point. With Fellaini joining Michael Carrick in centre-midfield, the Red Devils do seem robust, immobile and somewhat one dimensional. Such is the total lack of tempo that United have seemed to take a long time to get going and shift into a higher gear in recent matches, particularly against Southampton, who were the better side in the first half and deserved their draw. Perhaps dropping Fellaini and bringing in the more creative Tom Cleverley will abate the issue - it would certainly give the side more pace. A big decision awaits Moyes - does he continue to put his faith in the Fellaini/Carrick partnership, or does he try alternative combinations?
