1. Carlos Tevez
Andrew Matthews/EMPICS SportCarlos Tevez was always going to evoke fury when he swapped Manchester United for their 'noisy neighbours' Manchester City in 2009. Strangely, Tevez ruled out a move to Liverpool when it became apparent he was leaving Old Trafford, as he didn't want to upset the Red Devil's fan base. But he did exactly that when he arrived at Eastlands. City erected a massive billboard of Tevez with the message 'welcome to Manchester' at the top of Deansgate following his arrival, riling United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and United fans both. It might not have been Tevez's doing, but the poster certainly went a great distance in ensuring he was reviled by the Reds whenever he returned to the Theatre of Dreams as an opponent. Tevez himself ensured he was hated by United fans when, in 2012 following City's dramatic Premier League title win, the Argentinian was spotted on TV cameras holding aloft a placard reading
"RIP Fergie" - a reference to United's slide from the top of English football and City's apparent ascent. City were forced to apologise over the incident and the striker became a hate figure among United's fan base thereafter.
