Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal: Premier League Player Ratings

Arsenal

Wojciech Szczesny: Tipped over long range Sissoko effort late in first half. Got away with a poor clearance that Remy charged down. 5.5/10. Bacary Sagna: Bravely headed away in front of his own keeper to deny Gouffran in second half. Outshone by opposite number Debuchy. 5.5/10. Per Mertesacker: Screwed wide from poor Tiote clearance. Another clean sheet and kept Remy quiet, struggled more with Ameobi though. 6/10. Laurent Koscielny: French defender returns from injury and Gunners keep a clean sheet. Easy to see why he is first choice on this evidence. 6.5/10. Kieran Gibbs: Good form of Debuchy kept him on the margins of this game. Subbed. 5/10. Tomas Rosicky: Booked for late foul on Cabaye, but usual energetic self. 5/10. Mathieu Flamini: Got away with a foul on Sissoko on the edge of the box. Moved to left back when Gibbs subbed and then booked for needless foul on Ben Arfa. 4/10. Jack Wilshere: Blazed a 25-yarder over, but always looked to drive Gunners forward. 5/10. Theo Walcott: Assist for Giroud goal and almost scored himself, but for a goal-line clearance. Subbed. 6.5/10. Olivier Giroud: Booked for tackle on Tiote, but hurt himself in the process though soldiered on. Glanced in a free header to give Arsenal the lead for a set piece. Subbed. 6.5/10. Santi Cazorla: Curled a first half effort straight at Krul. Interchanged nicely throughout, but Spaniard tired in closing stages. 5.5/10. Subs: Mikel Arteta: Came on for last 20 minutes in place of Gibbs. Rating N/A. Carl Jenkinson: Brought on for last ten minutes only. Rating N/A. Nicklas Bendtner: Another five minutes plus stoppage time cameo for much-maligned Dane. Rating N/A. Who was your man of the match? Have your say below.
