Petr Cech: Had two put past him, but could do nothing about either. Czech Republic goalie saved from Sissoko twice, then Remy and Gouffran before conceding. Far busier of the two keepers. 6.5/10. Branislav Ivanovic: Lost Gouffran for Newcastle's opener. Shouldn't take his place for granted as Cesar Azpilicueta has a great engine. 5/10. David Luiz: Always looking to bring Chelsea forward from defence and another disciplined performance under Mourinho's aegis. Seldom crossed the halfway lane with the customary rushes of blood we're used to. Had played so well until Anita nipped past him late on. 5.5/10. John Terry: Could've bagged a brace with first half headers from Mata and Lampard corners. Marked Remy well until the late winner and blocked another effort beforehand. Still reads the game wonderfully. 6/10. Ashley Cole: Made precious little contribution to this game. Needs to buck his ideas up if he wants to hold off Leighton Baines for an England shirt. 5/10. Ramires: Another player that the game passed by. Booked for dissent after needlessly bringing Remy down in the centre circle. Didn't even drive Chelsea forward. Worst player on the pitch. 4.5/10. Frank Lampard: Off colour by his high standards, wasted a free kick early in the first half and committed a foul on Sissoko later on. Subbed. 5/10. Click on next for Chelsea's front four and subs.
