Newcastle Loan Report: Adam Armstrong Fires Coventry To League One Summit

1. Freddie Woodman (Crawley Town)

Newcastle United's young loanee stopper put in a man-of-the-match performance to ensure Crawley Town secured a goalless draw at home to Portsmouth on Tuesday night. Pompey had gone into the game on the back of two strong wins from their opening two matches, but Woodman kept out effort after effort to thwart a side who Crawley boss Mark Yates is adamant are "going to win" League Two this season. England Under-19 international magnificently denied Crawley forward Matt Tubbs when he was through one-on-one, and he also made a brilliant stop from Adam McGurk late on. The Magpies rate Woodman highly and, on the evidence of this game, you can see why. For all the latest NUFC News, Views and Transfers make sure to follow WhatCulture.com/NUFC on Twitter and Facebook.
