Newcastle: Rating Pardew's 10 Games So Far This Season

3. Signings

After a busy summer, Newcastle were expected to field a completely revamped side this season, but there have been few of the signings who have made it into the first team in a big way. Daryl Janmaat and Jack Colback are first choices, and rightly so, but the rest of the signings range from first team substitutes to reserves wannabes. Janmaat has been great, and increasingly impressive, while Colback is typically solid; Ayoze Perez has looked great in his appearances, but Emmanuel Riviere looks like a man played in the wrong role. Remy Cabella meanwhile has flattered to deceive, Facunda Ferreyra has been a disaster, while the jury is obviously still out on Siem De Jong and the Forest loan duo. It's very much a mixed bag, and while Pardew says everything will take time, it says something that most of the biggest stars this season have been established players and emerging youngsters.
