Club: Man City There are strong suggestions that the Man City man was the target of Newcastle's apparent late attempt to replace Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, with various sources claiming interest (and even contact in some cases) at the end of the summer transfer window. Arsenal were also said to be suitors, but no move materialised. Sadly for Nastasic, he is now literally the forgotten man at City (Manuel Pellegrini forgot he existed when asked about his defensive options) and seems to have fallen below Dedryck Boyata in the pecking order. Because Pellegrini favours an older line-up Nastasic appears to have been forced out of contention, and a loan move could be the right answer for him. And if Newcastle reignite their interest this winter they could be the perfect fit.
