Newcastle Transfers: 10 Greatest Modern Foreign Imports

3. Ben Arfa My earliest recollection of Ben Arfa was on FIFA '08, where I signed a young, unknown Frenchmen from Marseille, who always turned out to be a decent buy for me. The same decision is also turning out to be more than a decent one for Newcastle. The start Ben Arfa had in Newcastle couldn't have been worse, as he suffered a double leg break against Manchester City, which could well have ended Ben Arfa's Newcastle and professional playing career prematurely. But as fate would have it, not only did he recover, but he exploded into life. In the latter half of the 11/12 season, he was a player with confidence. He managed to score six times in thirty appearances in his first full season in England, including some memorable goals that would have made Messi jealous. Honestly. Just look at his goals against Blackburn and Bolton last season. Full of quick feet and trickery, it looks like Ben Arfa could be one of Newcastle's most influential players in the coming seasons.
