Newcastle Transfers: 7 Players Who Definitely Need To Leave This Summer

The brother of the legendary "Mackem Slayer" Shola, Sammy Ameobi seemed to be a promising talent rising through the youth ranks, but his transition to the first team has been painful at times.

He is out of contract this summer, and he'll also be turning 23, which is when he should be starting to cement his place in the first team. He has been getting a fair bit of game time, with 19 appearances this season, but he simply doesn't take his chances as he should.

His performance against Hull was brilliant, and showed the potential he has, but in the majority of games he's holding onto the ball way too long and not hitting the by-line as he should be. He's just a naive player, and that's just not what Newcastle need.

Fans should only have to endure players being billed as "the next big thing" for so long until they start to wonder when that might be.
