Newcastle Transfers: 7 Problems Andy Carroll Would Solve

6. Someone Else To Win Headers Other Than Mike Williamson

One of the most frustrating things about being a Newcastle fan at the minute is watching every set-piece go the same miserable way for the past two and half years. Yes, there were brief flashes of brilliance from the feet of Yohan Cabaye, but 95% of the set-pieces won end up being fired to the back post where Mike Williamson single-handedly fails to do anything with them. Despite having six days between every game, Newcastle persist with an unsuccessful set-piece technique that accounts for about 1% of all goals scored per season and it's mostly because Mike Williamson is the best header at the club. Which might be the most depressing thing of all time. With Carroll, Pardew would at least have a better suited target at the back post to knock things down to nobody.
