Newcastle Transfers: 7 Problems Andy Carroll Would Solve

5. "Experience"

Recently Alan Pardew has been surprisingly open in his criticism of the latest acquisitions and the direction that the transfer team have taken in the past few windows - in his usual restrained way anyway. The long and short of that was that the manager will seek to add more experience to his team rather than relying on untried youngsters prone to emotion and unsuited to battle and big occasion. And while the club have been linked with a move for Stade Rennes prospect Paul-Georges Ntep, a striker like Carroll, with his Premier League experience and knowledge of what it means to play for Newcastle would be more suited to Pardew's agenda. Quite whether he would make it through more than 20 games a season to build on that experience would be the big gamble.
