Newcastle Transfers: Ranking Alan Pardew's 10 Best Signings
2. Papiss Cisse - £10 Million From Freiburg
There's only been one better signing than Papiss Cisse in the Pardew era, and we're going to get to him in a moment. For now, though, we have to doff our hats to Cisse, a player who has been found in phenomenal form in each of the last two seasons he has spent at St James' Park. Having signed in January 2012 for £10 million from Freiburg, Cisse scored 13 times in 14 appearances for the 2011-12 campaign, before adding eight in 36 outings last season to finish as the club's joint-top scorer. It seems Cisse has always been there to get Newcastle out of a jam, particularly when they suffered through their striking crisis in the wake of Demba Ba's exit, and I'm sure there were many relieved fans out there when the issue with the club's sponsor, Wonga, which almost saw him quit, was resolved.
