Newcastle United PREDICTED XI (And Score) Vs Swansea

12. Swansea City Vs Newcastle United - Our Writers' Score Predictions

Chris Waugh (NUFC Editor) | @ChrisDHWaugh Unfortunately for the Magpies I think this game will come far too early in their development. The Swans are a well-drilled outfit and, although they have a definitive passing philosophy, Garry Monk has created a versatile squad who can adapt their style to get the better of the opposition. Newcastle's obvious weakness in the air defensively will cost them, with Bafetimbi Gomis netting two headers and Andre Ayew also grabbing a goal against a club who monitored him for years. The visitors will breach the Swans' defence, most likely through Moussa Sissoko, but it will be merely a consolation. Prediction: Swansea City 3 - 1 Newcastle UnitedMatt Smith (NUFC Writer) | @ElasticoChop Both teams will be happy with their opening-day performances but Swansea will be determined to back up their well-earned point at Stamford Bridge with three at home to the Magpies. There is no doubt Steve McClaren will have to approach the game more cautiously and this will mean Gabriel Obertan and Moussa Sissoko will have to contribute much more defensively. If Newcastle stay disciplined and react to McClaren's more restrained philosophy then I think they could snatch a point, if not and they continue to press the full-backs high then the game could be over before half-time. Prediction: Swansea City 1 - 1 Newcastle UnitedRoss Tweddell (NUFC Writer) | @TwedzTweets The Liberty has been "one of those grounds" for United in recent years, with last season's point all The Magpies have had to shout about since THAT Papiss Cisse brace in 2012. This will be a meeting of two "footballing" sides with the Swans far-more familiar with what is expected of them by Garry Monk. There were plenty of positives to come out of last weekend€™s 2-2 draw with Southampton for Steve McClaren - but Swansea could and arguably should have beaten Barclays Premier League champions Chelsea in their own back yard which shows they are a step or two ahead of "the new" Newcastle at the moment. Ultimately, the difference in the game will be Andre Ayew. Of course it will. Newcastle were linked with a move for the former Marseille man for the best part of a year as his contract in France winded down, so of course he is bound to score a hat-trick after a very impressive debut and goal at Stamford Bridge last week. Cisse loves the liberty and I can see him bagging a brace for the third time, but it won't be enough.Prediction: Swansea City 4-2 Newcastle UnitedFor all the latest NUFC News, Views and Transfers make sure to follow WhatCulture.com/NUFC on Twitter and Facebook.
