Newcastle United v Olympiakos - Live On ESPN

Newcastle United's fourth pre-season friendly pits them against the Greek Champions.

Alan Pardew will lead his Newcastle United team into their fourth pre-season friendly tonight, as part of their second training camp - this time in the Algarve, Portugal - against Greek Super League champions Olympiakos, when the teams face off at 8.45pm, live on ESPN. The match is hosted at the 30,000 capacity Estadio Algarve as part of the XII Trofeo Guadiana tournament, which began last night when Olympiakos faced Portuguese side SC Braga (including former Newcastle midfielder Hugo Viana). The sides drew 1-1 after 90 minutes, and then played a short penalty shoot-out which ended 4-4, bizarrely with only five kicks allowed each. The last time Newcastle faced the Greek champions was back in 2005 in the UEFA Cup, which saw home and away victores for the Magpies, thanks to goals from Alan Shearer, Laurent Robert and Patrick Kluivert in Greece to win 1-3 and another brace from Shearer, plus one each from former pugilist opponents Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer in the club's 100th European fixture at home led to a 7-1 aggregate victory. Newcastle will follow this game up tomorrow with their second match of the tournament against SC Braga - who were a late replacement for fellow Portugese side FC Porto - at the same venue.

Pardew can welcome back Dutch goalkeeper Tim Krul as well as French pair Yohan Cabaye and Hatem Ben Arfa who have all now returned from their extended breaks after EURO 2012, and at least Krul and Cabaye are expected to play some part, having been spotted in training. The situation for Ben Arfa is less clear, after he was set to fly out to Portugal directly after he avoided any disciplinary action from the French FA in the wake of his less than favourable behaviour at EURO 2012. They will be joined by Paul Dummett, who has been promoted to the first team squad in time for the Portugal trip. Meanwhile English defender Steven Taylor is set to make his long-awaited return from injury with at least 45 minutes - his first game time since rupturing ligaments against Chelsea last season. The only injury concerns Pardew has relate to new French signing Romain Amalfitano who pulled up with a groin strain before last Saturday's game against Fenerbahce in Austria and Shane Ferguson who has remained on Tyneside after picking up a similar injury. The game is live on ESPN, with kick-off at 8.45pm BST.
