Newcastle's Final-Day Premier League Results - How Have They Fared?

4. Everton 3-1 Newcastle United (13/05/12) - LOST

Newcastle went on a remarkable run throughout the 2011-12 season and Alan Pardew's men - led by the likes of Yohan Cabaye, Cheick Tiote, Demba Ba, Hatem Ben Arfa and Papiss Cisse - secured a fifth-place finish, one position ahead of Champions League winners Chelsea. However, their hopes of a top-four finish crumbled following a 2-0 loss to Manchester City and they ultimately ended on another miserable afternoon at Goodison Park. Steven Pienaar, Nikica Jelavic and Jonny Heitinga scored for Everton, with a Tony Hibbert own goal at least getting Newcastle on the scoresheet. Tim Cahill was also sent off in injury-time for the hosts.
