Norwich City: 5 Reasons Canaries Should Keep Faith In Chris Hughton
4. Hughton's Track Record
I know this one is an area of dispute for a lot of fans, since Chris Hughton hasnt been involved as the main man a great deal. On a personal note, I also worry when good coaches trying transform themselves into being good managers. The stats would certainly show that it doesnt happen all that often, and if things go wrong for him this season he will be labelled as just another coach that cant manage. However, thats a subject for another article down the line. At the moment, we are interested in what is happening in the here and now. The thing that impresses me the most about Hughton is he seems to handle pressure pretty well. As McNally recently said, we have got results in the big home games when we really needed them; Hughton has also responded well when asked some tough questions by the media. Its also worth noting that he performed well in his managerial jobs with Birmingham and Newcastle. Most fans of those clubs would say plenty of good things about him, as would a lot of pundits when discussing him. Nevertheless, football is results driven and Hughton will need to get them in order to stay in the job, but there is evidence to suggest that he thrives under that kind of pressure.
