Norwich City: 5 Reasons Chris Hughton Should Be Sacked

4. The Lack Of Goals Scored This Season Is Becoming A Major Problem

There is no doubt that goalscoring has been a major problem for Norwich this season as they have only managed 19 from their 26 league games so far this season, only Crystal Palace have scored fewer goals this season in the Premier League. However, what€™s interesting is that the team hasn€™t struggled to create chances this season compared with their rivals. The 13.1 shots that they manage per game is the 11th best record in the league. It€™s a similar story with total shots of 340 this season, which is only bettered by Swansea of the teams in the bottom half of the table. Therefore, the real problem for the Canaries is their ability to convert chances with only a 5.6% conversion rate so far this season. One possible argument behind that is the chances are always falling to the right players with the club€™s two principle strikers Gary Hooper and Ricky van Wolfswinkel only managing 1.6 and 1.5 shots per match respectively. This might go some way to explain why the two forwards have only managed six goals between them this season.
