1. Simply Put, There Is No Point In Keeping An Unhappy Player
It appears things are starting to get out of control with Hoolahan reportedly saying some less than supportive things about Norwich, Hughton says he will investigate such claims. Meanwhile, with the player left out of the squad on Tuesday an extended absence from the first team seems to be on the cards if he remains a Norwich player. Personally, I think this all makes a mockery of the intent to keep the player at Carrow Road. As mentioned, he is not a regular in the side and perhaps when he does play doesnt make the sort of impact that we would all like. On top of that, he has made it clear to everyone associated at the club that he wants to leave, and now seems to be forcing that action before the window closes. Obviously, its up to the management to decide what the best thing is to do but keeping a player for the sake of it is unlikely to do us any favours in the long-term. So, perhaps letting him go if we can find a replacement in time isnt such a bad idea. After all, having an unhappy player around the squad that doesnt want to be here wont be good for the general morale of the squad.
