Norwich City Transfers: 5 Reasons Wes Hoolahan Should Be Allowed To Leave

2. Hoolahan Doesn't Contribute Enough Goals Or Assists At The Top Level

In all honestly, this is probably the crux of the issue. Hoolahan is a great player that has served Norwich extremely well over the years going from League One right the way to the Premier League. It€™s certainly true to say that in the lower leagues of English football he was able to contribute a great deal in terms of goals and assists. In the EPL, he has shown he has the quality to play at this level. I€™ve lost count at the number of times that commentators have felt he was our best player. However, if you want to be taken seriously as an attacking midfielder in the Premier League, then you must contribute a significant number of goals and assists. As much as I like Hoolahan, he just doesn€™t deliver in this area, and this is a big reason why I believe that a better player can be found. Obviously, he has hardly featured this season €“ but in his two previous campaigns in the EPL he has contributed just seven goals and 10 assists, which is not good enough for a player of his talent.
