Predicting The Last 16 Of The Champions League 2014/15
Group D
Predicted Table: 1. Borussia Dortmund 2. Arsenal 3. Galatasaray 4. Anderlecht Although Borussia Dortmund continue to prove to be a stern test for Arsenal, this is a relatively favourable group for the London club. With a new-found strength up front with the introduction of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck, Arsenal shouldnt be too short of goals in the group stages. However, their defensive frailties were exposed by an accomplished Dortmund side in the first fixture and the Germans should top the group as a result. Even without Marco Reus, Dortmund looked a very strong side in the game against Arsenal and should go on to top the group. The 2013 runners-up could once again prove to be dark horses in this competition. As for Galatasaray and Anderlecht, these two teams look miles behind Dortmund and Arsenal and will be fighting it out for third and fourth. Although Turkey is always a tough place to go to in the Champions League, without Drogba Galatasaray won't pose much of a threat to the German or English sides. Anderlecht have made an undefeated start to the Belgian domestic season but have never managed to step up to the Champions League since their good performances in the 1970s and 80s. They will once again fail to qualify and more than likely end up propping up the rest of the table.
