8. Hugo Lloris - Lyon to Tottenham
French No.1 Lloris joins a squad bulging with goalkeepers after personal terms were agreed in the last hour of the window on Deadline Day. The 25-year-old stopper looks set to become the new first choice at White Hart Lane under Andre Villas-Boas, as the new manager continues his reshaping of the club. The captain of his national side, Lloris was in goal when England played France in this summer's European Championships. He was hesitant as Steven Gerrard swung in a free-kick for Joleon Lescott to head home in the 1-1 draw between the two sides. Tottenham released a statement on their official website saying: "We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Olympique Lyonnais for the transfer of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris." Lloris then spoke to
the club's official website: "I'm here because I believe in Tottenham," he said. "They have a great team, a great coach and everything is right to have Champions League football next year. "I'm ready to give my best for this team and for the fans."
