Premier League: 10 INSANE Things We Didn't Expect To Happen This Season

1. The Suarez Bite

You probably figured out what No.1 on our list was ages ago, and surely this inclusion can come as very little surprise. Really, what else was it going to be? Has there been an incident more controversial this season than Luis Suarez' biting of Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic? It was an incident that provoked immediate outcry and fury and was resolutely condemned by pundits and ex-professionals of the game alike. A player who is no stranger to controversy, this was but the latest in a long line of deplorable actions by the Uruguayan, who had been banned previously for again biting a player in 2010. The outrageous second half incident occurred during an off-the-ball coming together with Ivanovic, and was unpunished by the referee at the time. Yet there would be no shirking his punishment and the FA eventually clobbered him with a 10 match ban, ruling him out for the rest of the season, costing him the PFA Player of the Year Award and preventing him from winning the Premier League Golden Boot. And he has no one to blame but himself. What will next season bring in the way of shocking moments? We're sure they'll be loads more and can't wait to find out.
