Premier League: 3 Teams That Will Surprise Us Next Season

1. Liverpool

Daniel Sturridge The third and final contender in this article is unique here because it doesn€™t particularly really want to end up where Fulham and Norwich aspire. Whereas Fulham and Norwich want the Europa League, Liverpool will aspire to be in the more prestigious of the 2 European competitions- the Champions League. And so far they have made steps so that they can challenge with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton. Undoubtedly, the biggest frustration of being a Liverpool and a huge obstacle in the progression of Brendan Rodgers€™ team that will need to be overcome is the perplexing inconsistency of the team characterised by the ability to outclass and ram the goals past Norwich, Newcastle and Wigan (5-0, 6-0, 5-0 respectively), but play out a frustrating 0-0 draw with the same calibre teams as the ones above like Reading and Stoke. Is it an over-reliance on Suarez to grab the goals, which he cannot do when he has an off-day and isn€™t as lethal in some games as he is in others? Or could it be the lack of a Plan B when such results are imminent? Either way the coaching team will to find answers and fast so they can rectify the problem. In terms of signings, they€™ve made four so far and I feel avfifth would really set them out to be an attacking force to be feared in the minds of those defenders who face them. First things first, Simon Mignolet comes in for a fee of £9million, providing shot-stopping competition for Pepe Reina in goal which could prove to be an astute signing because both were regular keepers for their side last season and that means that unlike some, Premier League teams€™ goalkeeping structure, if one keeper gets injured, the other one can competently deputise, than maybe someone like Ross Turnbull at Chelsea who is constantly number 2 to Petr Cech in the League. In defence, the void left by Jamie Carragher has been filled by Kolo Touré, a man looking to reignite his career following his seven month drugs ban, will provide ample competition for Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger. Up front, Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto are both, young Spanish forwards signed to bolster up the attacking options behind Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, so they may become bit-part this season, but they will become future regulars in the team in 5/6 years time with their experience alongside Academy graduates. Feel free to comment on who you think will surprise us all below.
