Premier League: Rating The Top 6 Chances Of Title Glory

2. Liverpool

Why they could win the league: Liverpool have started this season stronger than they have in the last 5 years. They are looking like a top Premier League side and this is down to a few different things. They finally seem to have stability under one manager, Brendan Rodgers, who the owner and fans seem to have faith in. Hopefully this will mean he remains manager for the foreseeable future. Secondly the run of form of Daniel Sturridge paired up with the return of always top-class Luis Suarez means that Liverpool have a very dangerous pair of attackers that work very well together. They are scoring a lot of goals to boot, which is the important thing. Finally the signing of Simon Mignolet to replace Pepe Reina is a revelation for Liverpool. In my opinion Mignolet is one of the best, if not the best, goalkeeper in the Premier League. He more or less single-handedly kept Sunderland up last season and so far this term has made the most saves of any keeper in the league. He is, pardon the pun, a safe pair of hands for Liverpool this season. Why they might not win the league: Liverpool have a handful of great players, some of which I've mentioned above, but they don't have enough. Their squad just isn't deep enough, their bench is fairly poor for a top team and other than Skrtel, Agger and possibly Sakho their defence is questionable. If Liverpool want to push on and secure the number 1 spot come the end of the season then I believe they will need to spend money in January on one or two midfielders and some new full-backs.
