Premier League: 15 Most Disappointing Players Of The Season So Far

3. Shinji Kagawa

When Japanese superstar, Shinji Kagawa signed for Manchester United in the summer for a fee at around £17m, he was billed as Old Trafford's alternative to David Silva. He was renowned in the German Bundesliga as being a goal scoring attacking midfielder who had the vision to spot a defence splitting pass. Last season, he terrorised the likes of Arsenal in the Champions League whilst playing for Borussia Dortmund and it was expected that he'd do the same in the England. However, his time at Old Trafford so far has been inconsistent and to be honest, quite mediocre. He has played only 10 Premier League games so far for the Red Devils, scoring 2 goals and making only one assist. Ferguson has been more in favour of playing Rooney in a false number 9 role rather than to start with Kagawa, and I'm sure it was expected that Kagawa would have a much bigger impact at Man Utd than he is currently having. However, if you look at the positives, his capture has seen a huge in boost in Shirt sales from Asia. Every cloud has a silver lining.
