Ranking Newcastle's Transfer Dealings 2014-15 - Incomings

Now that Newcastle United's season is finally over - and their Premier League status eventually secured - the focus once again inevitably turns towards the transfer window. The Magpies need to strengthen their defence, central midfield, out wide, up front - well, basically everywhere in the team. It is not just numbers they need brought in either, they need proven, quality performers across the pitch. Ideally there would be some on-field leaders thrown into the mix too, because the Magpies have been severely lacking in that department recently. Last summer, Newcastle recruited nine players at a total expenditure of approximately £30 million - not accounting for money accrued from outgoings - and they need to sign a similar amount this summer, but hopefully at a far-heftier combined outlay. Some of that £30 million was well spent, with a couple of bargain buys recruited by Newcastle, but a fair chunk of it has also looked like it could be money down the drain...
