SkyBet League One Preview - Predicting How All Teams Will Finish This Season

Brentford

brentfordManager: Uwe Rosler Key Player: Clayton Donaldson Predicted Finish: 1st What a heart-breaking finale to the season Brentford had. One penalty away from promotion only for it all to be taken away from them in a dramatic turn of events which saw Doncaster score seconds later from the resulting rebound. Brentford have strengthened over the summer and their play off final defeat will no doubt spur them on to bigger things this year. The addition of Will Grigg to the team gives them one of the most dangerous strike forces in the division and I fully expect Uwe Rosler€™s men to go one step further this time around.

Bristol City

bristol cityManager: Sean O€™Driscoll Key Player: Albert Adomah Predicted Finish: 5th Relegated Bristol City have been extremely busy rebuilding their squad over the summer with some notable new additions who could make them serious contenders in League One this year. The arrival of Jay-Emmanuel Thomas from Ipswich is certainly a statement of intent whilst the addition of Frank Fielding to replace former keeper Tom Heaton could prove to be pivotal for the Bristol side. City will no doubt be one of the better teams in the division this season and Sean O€™Driscoll is a great manager at this level. Their fans will be confident for at least a play off push this year.

Carlisle United

carlilseManager: Greg Abbott Key Man: Sean O€™Hanlon Predicted Finish: 18th Greg Abbott is now the longest running manager in the division and his fifth year in charge looks set to be more similar to last season than the previous one. Abbott€™s team avoided relegation last season with weeks to spare and I expect more of the same from them this year. They have enough quality and experience in the team to avoid the drop but its difficult to see them climbing any higher up the division this season. The club seem to have come to somewhat of a stand still in terms of progression after narrowly missing out on the play offs two years and I fully expect this to be another year of consolidation for The Cumbrians.
