The £30 million Southampton received for Luke Shaw makes him both the club's record sale and Britain's most expensive teenager. Southampton, therefore, have a hefty transfer kitty to spend on a potential replacement. Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand has arrived on a season long loan, but Saints also have their eye on Argentinian World Cup star Marcos Rojo. Rojo can play at left back or in the centre of defence so would give Koeman options. An initial £9.5 million bid was rejected by Rojo's club Sporting Lisbon, but Saints are rumoured to be willing to meet Sporting's £14 million valuation. They may face a challenge, however, from Shaw's new club as Man United are keen to match Saints' bid for the highly fancied defender.
Capturing Rojo would be quite a coup for Saints and would indicate a level of ambition that might suggest that there's life after Shaw, Chambers and Lallana.
