Spurs finally kicked off their Premier League season properly with a 2-0 victory at home to fellow big-spenders Norwich City. In doing so, the Lilywhites scored their first two Premier League goals from open play this season - both coming from Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson. It was a great performance from Spurs at White Hart Lane, with 70% of the game's possession going to the home team and they only looked seriously threatened on a single occasion.
