4. Memphis Depay - PSV Eindhoven (Attacking Midfielder)

Frank Augstein/AP/Press Association ImagesOne of the highlights of a Dutch World Cup campaign that came to an abrupt and disappointing end in a penalty shoot-out against Argentina on Wednesday night was the performance of young PSV Eindhoven player Memphis Depay. Depay played in four of the Dutch team's World Cup matches - coming on as a sub in their second and third group stage matches against Australia and Chile, as well as in their second round match with Mexico, before starting the quarter final against Costa Rica. He scored two goals - having previously never scored for the national side - and grabbed one assist. This has brought him to the attention of a number of big clubs around Europe, apparently including
Spurs. Attacking midfield is an area in which Spurs have a lot of talent - Christian Eriksen, Andros Townsend, Aaron Lennon, Erik Lamela, Nacer Chadli, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lewis Holtby and even Mousa Dembele who can play there - but it's an area that could still do with improving in terms of quality and a number of those players could potentially be offloaded. If Depay is a realistic option, he could be the Gareth Bale replacement Spurs so sorely need.
