Spurs Transfers: Ranking Villas Boas' Signings From Worst To Best
5. Paulinho - £16.5 Million From Corinthians
Spurs broke their transfer record for the first time this summer buying Paulinho and at £16.5 million, he has a lot to live up to. Signing from Corinthians, the Brazilian's CV and goal return for a box to box midfielder (20 goals in 86 games) persuaded the North London club to swooped ahead of Real Madrid to secure his services. With regards to his start at Tottenham, his performances have been solid, a fact solidified by his Man of the Match award given to him on his league debut. Furthermore, he has opened his account for them after netting in the 5-0 rout of Dinamo Tblisi. Thus, Villas Boas may be sufficiently impressed to keep the (so-far) ever present Brazilian in the team as they embark on the rest of their season and inspire them to a very fulfilling season indeed.
