Spurs Transfers: Ranking Villas Boas' Signings From Worst To Best

1. Roberto Soldado - £26 Million From Valencia

And so, in my opinion the best AVB signing has been the one from Valencia- Roberto Soldado. At the start of the summer, it was imperative that Spurs replenish their striking stock with the current fleet of Jermain Defoe, Emmanuel Adebayor often misfiring and requiring a lot of help from the rest of the team on the goalscoring front. So, to manage to grab the Spaniard from the hands of Valencia was much of a coup as it was needed. The fee of £26 million suggested that Soldado was very in-demand and only a then club record fee was needed to fend of the advances of Real Madrid. As for his Spurs career so far, he has netted both of his- and team's- league goals via the penalty spot as well as netting a brace in the 5-0 mauling of Dinamo Tblisi in the Europa League play-off round first leg. So, that makes 4 goals in 4 appearances in a Spurs shirt. A good start in his bid of justifying the fee and to continually do that, he needs to keep banging them in at a good rate. I think that as a striker, he will not be subject to much rotation, due to the standard and efficiency of the men who are currently below him in the pecking order. Also, knowing he is being served by such talent, may serve to not only appease the Spurs fans, as now they have a half-decent goalscoring striker now, but act as a possible motivator to score lots, as he knows many of the attack-minded signings made have bagged plenty in their European leagues. So Spurs fans, which of this signings do you believe will churn out season defining performances? And who are you most excited about seeing? Comment below if you have an opinion
